* The
Lasallian Mission Council (LMC) assists in ensuring that the
District fulfills its mission of providing a Human and Christian
Education of the young, especially the poor by advising the Brother
Visitor on all areas that impact the success of our mission. The
Lasallian Mission Council is structured as a two-tiered board in which
the Brother Visitor and his District Council hold some reserve powers.
Those who serve on the council are representative of the District and
advise the Brother Visitor on mission-related District policies and
major initiatives in the key areas of the educational mission:
formation, the development and selection of leadership, assessment,
association, service of the poor, and finance. The members of the LMC
create and serve on standing committees that address each of the key
areas of the educational mission. They guide the work of the Director
for Lasallian Mission to ensure implementation of District policies and
major initiatives, hold reserve powers for the boards of
District-controlled ministries, and guide all of the boards of District
ministries and assist with board formation.
